The Seized Construct is a Boss in Tears of the Kingdom.[2]

Characteristics

Hyrule Compendium Entry
197  Seized Construct
Description
The construct that Mineru originally intended to house her spirit. It was changed into this ominous form by the magic power of the Demon King. Originally intended for construction, it is highly durable and able to withstand harsh conditions.
Common Locations
Spirit Temple

The Seized Construct is a large humanoid Crafter Construct similar to the Construct built by Mineru to house her spirit, and according to her it was a prototype of her Construct body. It has since been stolen by Ganondorf to stop Mineru from reclaiming her Secret Stone of Spirit at the Spirit Temple, and now visibly emanates Gloom.

Another Seized Construct appears at Gloom's Lair during the War in the Depths of Hyrule, which must be fought alongside any other story Bosses who were not defeated in their respective Temple. Otherwise, if Mineru has reclaimed her Secret Stone, she will handle it so that Link can go on to fight Demon King Ganondorf. If Mineru is the only Sage acquired at this time, she will explain that this Construct is a "magical copy" given that it has already been defeated.[3]

Unlike the other Main Quest bosses, the Seized Construct cannot be re-fought in the Depths after defeating it. It also cannot have a statue of it created by Kilton.

Battle

Attempting to fight the Seized Construct directly is all but pointless, as it possesses an enormous amount of health and takes no damage from arrows if they have not been fused with explosive items. Furthermore, if in the Spirit Temple, the entirety of the arena's floor is covered in Gloom that will inevitably drain all of Link's hearts. Instead, Link must pilot Mineru's Construct and knock the Seized Construct into the electric fences surrounding the arena. When pushed into the fence, the Seized Construct will always lose 1/8th of its health, with any additional hits before it gets back up dealing 1/16th.

Several Spiked Balls and Cannons, as well as any Zonai Devices that Link might have in his inventory, can be attached to the construct's arms to enable it to attack at close quarters or long range. The Construct will similarly try to push Link and Mineru into the fence, and so they should wait for it to attempt an attack before closing in and retaliating.

Upon losing half its health, the Seized Construct will grow two additional arms; it will also attach a Rocket to its back, two Fans to its lower arms, and two Cannons to its upper arms. It will immediately follow up by flying into the air before firing repeatedly. Link and Mineru can either focus on defending themselves until the Seized Construct lands, or counterattack with Cannon fire of their own. The Seized Construct will also attempt flying body slams, which will deal significant damage but can be baited in order to create further opportunities to knock it into the electric fence.

Trivia

The following information may not be trivia.
Please incorporate it into the main body of this article as per policy. Irrelevant or repeated facts may be removed.
See Help:Article Reorganization for more information.
  • Although walking while piloting Mineru's Construct usually expends Link's Energy Cells, it does not do so in the battle against the Seized Construct. Attached Zonai Devices will still expend his Energy Cells, however.
  • Alongside Colgera, the Seized Construct is one of two Bosses whose health points do not change based on story progression. It has 20,000 health points regardless of when it is battled. However, the version fought at Gloom's Lair does gain 5,000 additional health per Temple Boss defeated, despite the other Bosses in Gloom's Lair having consistent health point values.
  • The Seized Construct is one of the few Bosses in Tears of the Kingdom that Link cannot rematch after it has been defeated. Other examples include Sludge Like, Master Kohga, and Moragia. This also means that Hudson will not create a Monster Sculpture based on the Seized Construct.
