Biography

Breath of the Wild

The Seven Heroines are known as the divine protectors of the Gerudo people.[2] Massive Heroine Statues that stand in their honor can be found in the East Gerudo Ruins on the east end of the Gerudo Desert. People once journeyed from around the world searching for the Heroines' blessing.[3] Each Heroine is said to have a unique power, which are skill, spirit, endurance, knowledge, flight, motion and gentleness.[4] The statues of the Seven Heroines play a role in the Shrine Quest, "The Seven Heroines", given by Rotana in Gerudo Town. Link must solve a puzzle involving the statues to finish the Shrine Quest and reveal the Korsh O'hu Shrine. In addition to the Seven Heroines, there is also a rumor of an Eighth Heroine.[5] Its Statue can be found in the northern Gerudo Highlands.

The Seven Heroines have been worshiped by the Gerudo for a long time, and are said to have protected and guided the Gerudo in times past.[6] Little is actually known about the Heroines, even by the Gerudo.[7] There is a debate among the Gerudo between whether they should worship all seven as a group, or each one as individuals.[8] Even the number is disagreed on, with some claiming there are eight, or even only one.[9]

Link and Rotana ultimately discover that the Eighth Heroine was in fact a voe and was subsequently barred entrance to Gerudo Town despite being the one to unite the Seven Heroines. Ashamed by their actions but unable to make amends, the ancient Gerudo built a hidden temple to honor him.

"Seven Sages" is written on the statues of the Seven Heroines in Gerudo.
