The Sensor,(TotK)[name references needed] also known as the Sheikah Sensor,(BotW)[1][name references needed] is a recurring Item in The Legend of Zelda series.

Location and Uses

Breath of the Wild

The Sheikah Sensor is used to locate Ancient Shrines in Breath of the Wild. It can be unlocked either by activating any Sheikah Tower after leaving the Great Plateau or in the Hateno Ancient Tech Lab by repairing the Sheikah Slate. When Link is near an Ancient Shrine, the Sheikah Sensor will beep louder.

Once upgraded, the Sheikah Sensor becomes the Sheikah Sensor +, and can be used to detect objects other than shrines. This functionality can be used to search for any object you've got an entry for in the Hyrule Compendium. Once this has been unlocked, Symin. will ask to see the Sheikah Sensor, and the "Sunshroom Sensing" Side Quest will become available.
