Shock Arrows are a type of Arrow which can be used with any Bow. While they most commonly appear in singles, they can also be found in bundles.[3][4] Shock Arrows immediately dissipate into a burst of electricity after impact.[1] If Link or an enemy is shot by a Shock Arrow, they are electrocuted and stunned for a short period of time. Therefore, they're noted to be effective against wet opponents and metal.[1] In addition, if Link is using any equipped items while shocked, they are dropped to the ground. They can be dropped by archer enemies or found inside Treasure Chests.

The following locations sell Shock Arrows:

Shock Arrows deal an additional 20 damage to the attack power of the Bow being used. When shot at a body of water, they create a damaging area of effect around where the Shock Arrow's point of impact. Shock Arrows also inflict extra damage when used in the Rain.[5] Bokoblins, Moblins, Lizalfos, and Lynels can sometimes be found using them. Shock Arrows can send surges of electricity through conductive objects, such as metal crates and metal Weapons.

Zora are known to be susceptible to damage from Shock Arrows.[6] Seggin, however, is noted to be more resistant to them than the average Zora, and is even able to use them.[7]

In order to complete the Main Quest "Divine Beast Vah Ruta, Link must use Shock Arrows when he faces the Divine Beast of the same name with Sidon.[8] Muzu received the task of locating the Shock Arrows, but he will leave before telling anyone where they are.[9] Hearing that Mipha was in love with Link, Muzu refuses to reveal their location unless he can prove it.[10] Once he's convinced, he'll reveal that the arrows can be found in the territory of the Lynel on Ploymus Mountain.[11] He estimates that Link will require at least twenty to face the beast.[12] After they've been collected, Link can move on to the battle with Divine Beast Vah Ruta.
