Shotaro Ishinomori was the creator of the comic adaptation of A Link to the Past published by Nintendo Power.

Ishinomori was known as the "King of Manga," writing works such as Kamen Rider, Super Sentai, Cyborg 009, Ganbare!! Robocon, and Sarutobi Ecchan. He worked from 1954 to his death in 1998. Through his work on the A Link to the Past comic, he introduced multiple elements to The Legend of Zelda. This includes characters like Roam, Epheremelda, and Wolf Link, and items like the Comfork, the Zora's Mask, and the Hot-Air Balloon.
