The Slumber of Restoration is an event in Breath of the Wild.[1]

Overview

The Slumber of Restoration is a feature of the Shrine of Resurrection that was discovered shortly following the excavation of the aforementioned Shrine.[2] When an individual is placed within the Shrine of Resurrection's bed, they will slowly be healed by the Shrine.[2] If an individual's injuries are severe enough, they can be placed in a long-term stasis known as the Slumber of Restoration wherein their body is healed but they do not age.[2]

After Link sustained fatal injuries during the second Great Calamity, Purah followed Zelda's orders and placed Link in the Slumber of Restoration inside the Shrine of Resurrection to heal his wounds.[3] Purah did so expecting for Link to lose his memories in the process.[4]

  1. Hey! Heeeey! Are you surprised?! The director of this laboratory is NOT Symin. It's ME! Snappity snap! Anywaaay. Linky! Do you remember any dreams from your time in the Slumber of Restoration? You don't look like you've changed a bit in the last 100 years, but SOMETHING must have happened in all that time! Well, no matter! I'm just happy you're still in one piece. ...Linky? What's with that look? You do still remember me, right? — Purah (Breath of the Wild)
  2. 2.0 2.1 2.2 I spoke with Purah about the Shrine of Resurrection we discovered earlier.

As we speculated, this particular shrine is, in fact, a medical facility with the power to heal.

It also has a long-term stasis function that can be activated and maintained until healing is complete.

In the war against the Calamity 10,000 years ago...were the injuries so great as to necessitate such a facility?

If so, I will remain uneasy until we have made all adjustments necessary to restore it to full working order.

I can only pray that even if Calamity Ganon returns, our battle will not require the Shrine of Resurrection's power...

  3. [I don't remember.] Really?! Well! I'm so shocked I don't know if I'll ever be able to recover from this! Even though, 100 years ago, I took you to the Shrine of Resurrection after Calamity Ganon fatally wounded you... Even though I was the one who put you safely into the Slumber of Restoration... Despite all that, you still don't remember me? — Purah (Breath of the Wild)
  4. [I don't remember.] Hmm... As expected. After 100 years in the Slumber of Restoration, subject...has...lost...all...memories. Noted! Oh, sooooory... I have a bad habit of taking notes rather abruptly like that. It's a charming quirk, isn't it? Anyhoo... Do you have any questions for me? — Purah (Breath of the Wild)
