Soldier's Broadswords are Weapons that Link can use to defeat Enemies, destroy Barrels and Jars, and cut down Trees. Soldier's Broadswords will usually deal 14, but that increases to 28 damage when they are thrown and broken. They were once brandished by those who once defended Hyrule Castle prior to the Great Calamity.[1] They are considered a good and durable Weapon to use against Monsters.[1] Link can find them commonly in Hyrule Field and the Faron Grasslands. A Soldier's Broadsword can be found planted in the ground of the cave located behind the Waterfall that feeds the River of the Dead.

Scanning the following amiibos with the amiibo Rune has a chance to spawn a Treasure Chest containing a Soldier's Broadsword:

Soldier's Broadswords are made of metal, and they will attract Lightning if they are equipped during a Thunderstorm. This also means that they will conduct Electricity. They will sink if they are dropped in Water, but they can be picked up and manipulated with the Magnesis Rune. Finally, Soldier's Broadswords will not burn near Fire or in a Scorching Climate.

Soldier's Broadswords belong to the Soldier's Gear equipment archetype, which were all utilized by the Knights of Hyrule prior to the Great Calamity.[4] A Soldier's Broadsword is part of an unnamed set of equipment used by Link in promotional media, alongside a Traveler's Bow and a Traveler's Shield.
