Springboards are recurring Objects in The Legend of Zelda series.[1] Springboards go unnamed in Phantom Hourglass. Though the means of activating them in each game is different, their basic function is to launch Link into the air and help him reach higher areas.

Appearances

The Wind Waker

In The Wind Waker, Springboards appear in the Wind Temple and Ganon's Castle. Link can use them by climbing atop one while wearing the Iron Boots to press it down; taking the boots off will send him flying into the air. In addition to reaching ledges and areas above him, Springboards can also give Link a boost in altitude for use with the Deku Leaf.

Phantom Hourglass

In Phantom Hourglass, Springboards are found primarily in Mutoh's Temple, as well as the last few floors of the Temple of the Ocean King. Link can activate them by using the Hammer. Springboards can also be used to move boulders between different elevations, which is required in some areas. They serve as vital during the battle against Eox, the boss of Mutoh's Temple, allowing Link to reach and attack the various pressure points situated on its body.
