Steamed Fish is a recurring Meal in The Legend of Zelda series.[1][2][3]

Location and Uses

Breath of the Wild

Link can make Steamed Fish by Cooking a Fish with any Vegetable, herb, or Flower in a Cooking Pot. There are two methods to make the default version of this Meal. The first way is to cook either Hyrule Basses or Sanke Carps with Hyrule Herbs, as none of these ingredients provide any Added Effects. Alternatively, Link can use ingredients with contradicting effects, which will cancel out. Link can heal some of his Hearts to his Life Gauge by eating these Fish. They are considered a refined dish.[1]

Based on both the type of Fish used and the kind of herb, Vegetable, or Flower used, Link can make several different variations of Steamed Fish:

  • Enduring Steamed Fish:[6] Made by using Endura Carrots or other enduring ingredients. Link's Stamina Wheel will be completely replenished and overfilled when he consumes them.[6]
  • Hasty Steamed Fish:[7] Made by using Swift Carrots, Swift Violets, or other hasty ingredients. By eating them, Link will receive a boost to his movement speed.[7]

Tears of the Kingdom

Steamed Fish returns in Tears of the Kingdom. Like in Breath of the Wild, it can be made by Cooking any type of Fish with a Vegetable, herb, or Flower.
