Description
This enormous monster is naturally camouflaged as a rock formation. Neither sword nor arrow can pierce its stony form, but a cunning adventurer knows to scale its body and attack the ore sprouting from its peak. Unlike your average Stone Talus, this type's ore deposit consists mostly of luminous stone.

Stone Taluses (Luminous) are variations of Stone Taluses, with the notable difference that the Ore Deposits on their bodies are Luminous Stone Deposits instead.[4] They hide their massive size by posing as natural rock formations.[4] Like all Taluses, the only way to damage Stone Taluses (Luminous) is by striking its Luminous Stone Deposit.[4] They are particularly vulnerable to Iron Sledgehammers and other mining tools, as well as Bomb Arrows.

After Link has defeated Calamity Ganon for the first time, he will be able to ask Kilton about Taluses.[5] Kilton is unable to approach them due to their giant size, so he asks Link to defeat all of the Talus in Hyrule Kingdom so he can analyze their scent.[6] This includes all of the Stone Taluses (Luminous). When Link returns to Kilton after defeating all of the Taluses, he will be rewarded with the Medal of Honor: Talus.[7] As a result of this research, Kilton is able to learn about the musculoskeletal structure and diet of Taluses.[8]
