The Suma Sahma Shrine,[1] designated by the Trial name Suma Sahma's Blessing,[1] is an Ancient Shrine in Breath of the Wild.

Entrance to the Shrine

Suma Sahma Shrine is initially buried beneath the Snow of Mount Granajh. In the ruins atop the mountain, Link can find a Book, the Mountain Peak Log, recounting the attempts of an unknown individual to unearth the Ancient Shrine.[2] Reading it begins the "Secret of the Snowy Peaks" Shrine Quest.

The Mountain Peak Log refers to a nearby Pedestal, saying to cast a cold shadow onto it when it glows.[3][4] The glow occurs at 4:00 PM, at which point Link can cast the shadow of either a Snowball or a Cryonis block onto it. This causes Suma Sahma Shrine to rise from the ground, completing the Shrine Quest.[5]

As Link enters the Ancient Shrine, he is greeted by its Monk, Suma Sahma, who says he has already proven his worth by arriving at the Shrine.[6]

Themes and Navigation

The Suma Sahma Shrine is one large room with no puzzles or Enemies, only a straight path to the Monk's Pedestal bearing Suma Sahma. There is a Treasure Chest in the center of the room containing a Moonlight Scimitar. As a reward for arriving to the Ancient Shrine, Suma Sahma gives Link a Spirit Orb.[7] The Monk then wishes Link well before fading away.[8]
