Sun Pumpkins are Items in Tears of the Kingdom.[1]

Location and Uses

Sun Pumpkins are a new type of Pumpkin that were cultivated by Reede in Hateno Village.[1] When eaten, they will restore half of a Heart to Link's Life Gauge. Cooking with Sun Pumpkins will result in a dish that can heal the effects of Gloom.[1]

After his daughter Karin noticed that other children in Hateno Village were not eating as many vegetable, Reede decided to start breeding a new vegetable that would appeal to them.[2] Working with Nack, Reede's philosophy was to use the styling of Cece's Brand, which is popular among the youth of Hateno.[3] At the end of "The Mayoral Election" Side Adventure, Cece offers to help Reede with the development of his Pumpkins.[4]

But there's no denying that these things just aren't resonating with the youth nowadays. And I've got no business being mayor if I can't fix that. So I got together with Nack, the best farmer in these parts, and we came up with a new type of pumpkin. The color, shape, and appearance are based on the Cece brand aesthetic, which is popular with the young folk. We've hit a snag though. It might be a bit before we can achieve our goal of shipping the pumpkins out." — Reede's Diary (Tears of the Kingdom)
