Cooking Effects
Gloom Recovery

Sundelions are Flower Materials that grow in the sunlight on Sky Islands and on the surface next to Fallen Debris and Fallen Ruins that fell during the Upheaval. When used in Cooking, they grant Gloom Recovery to Link, which restores Hearts depleted by Gloom.[1]

Once thought to be extinct, the Zonai Survey Team have found Sundelions in the Southern Ring Ruin and are cultivating them in Mellie's Plum Garden.[3] Due to them being difficult to procure, Ebah has been working to create an alternative to Sundelions for use in treating Gloom.[2]

Like other Flowers, Sundelions can be used in a Cooking Pot to make the following Meals:

Trivia

  • Sundelions are closely associated with Sonia, being found around her grave. They are also a near-perfect color-inversion of Silent Princesses, which are associated with her descendant, Zelda.[4] Both Flowers also feature a five-petal shape.

Nomenclature

Sundelion is a portmanteau of "sun" and "dandelion".

Given how difficult it is to procure, I have been working tirelessly to develop some sort of alternative cure.

  3. Like the other Ring Ruins, those that fell to the plateau south of the village also held a stone slab with Zonai inscriptions.

Curiously, we also discovered a flower growing in the ruin, the likes of which we had never seen.

References in ancient texts revealed that it was a sundelion—a plant long thought extinct.

We are currently borrowing a local plum orchard for our cultivation efforts and hoping our studies prove fruitful.
