If it MAY be the mother of all babas, what is it doing in The Wind Waker hundreds of centuries later? In Ocarina of Time, Babas pretty much lived by themselves, like any other plant. Even more, any Baba could be the mother of "all" Babas. They're plants after all so that information is irrelevant.

Theory corrosponding with an alternate Timeline
I know that Diababa is just a normal Deku Baba transformed by a Fused Shadow, but is it possible that Diababa is the alternative timeline version of Kalle Demos? Considering Twilight Princess and The Wind Waker happen on alternate timelines at the same time... - There may be one, but it would only exist as you pointed out - since TWW and TP are at the same place in different timelines. Other than that, I wouldn't really look into it much: they don't look or behave alike whatsoever. The only possible connections I could see is through their Baba lineage, and that some incarnation of the Boomerang is pivotal in their defeat. — ciprianotalk 17:34, 7 March 2010 (UTC)
Is there any nintendo official evidence to support this alternate timeline theory? Would it not be more logical to say they are related? Ever since ocarina of time and majoras mask, everyone seems to think link is full of complicated timelines when they can all fit together in one simple timeline. Pharap 16:32, 28 September 2010 (EDT)

- I've also looked through the gallery and two different text dumps. The only places in the entire game where the word "parasite" are used are on Kalle Demos' and the Great Deku Tree's figurines, but it never used the term "parasitic plant". Shouldn't it be ka-lay de-mos instead of kayle? It's Japanese name would imply it's supposed to be Ka-lay Pharap 16:32, 28 September 2010 (EDT)
- See: Language and Localization Standards. We're an American English wiki, so we STICK with how things would be in American English. If we were a Japanese wiki it would be different, but we're not. We go by what the North American Localization Team put for everything in the Zelda games. And most are not direct crossovers from the Japanese and things are not pronounced the same in Japanese as they are in English.Emma (Talk) 20:51, September 28, 2010 (UTC)

Etymology
"Kalle" could come from "Kale", a crop that looks a bit like the boss. Demos sounds like demon. Thoughts? Dekler (talk) 15:17, 23 July 2014 (UTC)
