If you want to know where I got the unmasked pic of Pantissimo II I got it from a game hacker known as Girrrtacos. He ripped the in game model of him. (In case you think it's fake.) Mcoolister ( T & C )

There's only one in-game instance of the word "Marathon", and that's on the records listing ("Marathon time:"). Therefore he's never referred to as the Marathon Man. He is, however, referred to as the running man. By himself, no less. We currently have "Running Man" redirecting to here -- I say we change that around. —Ando (talk) 15:28, 14 January 2009 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Thing is, he doesn't use "running man" as a proper noun, although like you said, he never calls himself the Marathon Man either. I dunno, it seems like Running Man would be the most appropriate name, but since he doesn't really have an "official" name, I might say just go with whichever one is more popular among fans. Ah, you do raise a good point... I don't know, I guess we'll just wait to see what others think it should be moved to considering, as you said, there's no "official" name. —Ando (talk) 18:18, 14 January 2009 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Until I actually read this article, I always referred to this character as "Running Man""; I didn't know there was another possible name. "Marathon Man" is never used in the game (at least not to my knowledge). Why not change?Mandi Talk

We're not going to discuss it further? I was under the impression this was still open.... Jimbo Jambo 22:09, 18 January 2009 (UTC)Reply[reply]
I don't think there was a need to discuss anything further.Mandi Talk 22:19, 18 January 2009 (UTC)Reply[reply]
In addition, due to recent research, it has been pointed out (with in-game dialogue) that his name is infact "Running Man".Steve 22:25, 18 January 2009 (UTC)Reply[reply]
I'd say a 3 to 1 consensus is plenty, and in-game text is (nearly) always the most important factor. Also, no decision at the wiki is final. If any additional (contradictory) evidence can be found, the issue can be reopened. Adam [ talk ] 22:32, 18 January 2009 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Ando actually seemed to agree with me, but I wasn't really taking a side, I just didn't want to be so hasty in renaming the article. What I was really hoping for was more than one addition opinion. Like I said, he doesn't use "running man" as a proper noun - I'm a wiki contributor, but that doesn't make that my name. If you still think that's enough of a basis to decide the name of the article, then I can't argue with that, but I want to be sure we're clear on exactly why we're going with that name. Anyway, if we do stick with running man, then do you think we should name the article "The running man" rather than "Running Man"? Jimbo Jambo 07:54, 19 January 2009 (UTC)Reply[reply]

The wiki policy is never to have a common word like "the" in the title unless it can be confirmed to actually be part of the name. Running Man is the most accurate name we have.Emma (Talk) 08:10, January 19, 2009 (UTC)

Okami

In Okami there are two postmen that both have a large similarity to the Running Man. Should this be mentioned?Namelink 02:15, 23 July 2011 (EDT)

Probably not (I would add it in the Cameos page, except somebody deleted that game's section for some reason. Oh, well...).. --K2L (Interrogatory) 02:44, 23 July 2011 (EDT)

Dashing Man is the Running Man

I can confirm that page 115 of the official ALttP guide actually has a whole subsection about the "Running Man", and names him as such with capital letters and all. Meaning that the Running Man from OoT is presumably a reference to the original Running Man in ALttP, so I'm suggesting a merge here. Fizzle 06:49, 21 December 2011 (EST)

Well, who would've thought! I would say go right on ahead with the merge. The proof is right in the guide, there's no reason why they shouldn't be merged.
What an interesting find! — Hylian King [*] 07:14, 21 December 2011 (EST)
Oh, come **** on! The ALttP character is called "Running Man" in that guide because he has no given name and that's a name that describes him, not because they're supposed to be the same character! And even if the Running Man from OoT is a reference to the ALttP (which is highly debatable, as they look nothing alike), merging him into this article would be like merging Marin into Malon's article because the later is a reference to the former =_= Dere 17:38, 1 May 2013 (UTC)Reply[reply]
I must ask that you not make use of expletives while editing talk pages. Zelda Wiki's goal is to remain as family-friendly as possible, so wanton use of profanities is discouraged.
Addressing your point, however, this is not the only page that covers multiple separate characters that share the same name. The principle is not that they are different characters, but that they share the same name; Marin and Malon bear different names and have completely different roles. In any case, were we to split the ALttP section into its own page, it would be a very lackluster one. Stubby, if anything. We could split it, but it's not really worth it. - TonyT S C 18:37, 1 May 2013 (UTC)Reply[reply]
