Better double check on other Zelda games just in case -- Wolfgerlion64 (talk) 22:50, 12 April 2017 (UTC)Reply[reply]
I did some, if you wanna double-check from Majora's Mask until Breath of the Wild you can, just tell me. MannedTooth (talk) 23:15, 12 April 2017 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Speedrun Category Names

I noticed that the names of categories on this list don't necessarily always match their names on speedrun.com. I was just curious as to why this might be.

For example, in Twilight Princess, the (formerly called 200%) "100% Plus" category extension (I am actually JDLM, the current world record holder) is listed as the official 100% category, while the regular 100% category is listed as "100% (Less Requirements)". Should they be updated here to reflect their official speedrun.com names, or kept the same? - JD (talk) 01:21, 21 August 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

They probably should be updated to reflect whichever names are used on speedrun.com. I don't believe there's any reason to keep outdated or contradictory names, and we could probably just throw in a Note if something needs to be clarified. Thanks for pointing that out. Ah, that was something I did back in January when I did a big overhaul of the page. Back when I was writing out each category in the table, I was marking off the basic Any% and 100% and then going from there. Since we have a page for 100% Completion already, I thought it would be a bit weird to have something like 200% or multiple 100% categories when another page just lists one main category, so I just wrote the highest possible one as 100% since that's technically the "true" 100% and wrote anything under that as "less requirements" as a specification. Although, that probably would be confusing for some without a note, and I didn't think about it. It might just be better to list them all as the same name on the website so that confusion isn't there anymore. If you'd like to update the category names since you know the most about it that would be fine, and I can help you out with it if you need. β€” 𝐌𝐚𝐠𝐒𝐜𝐌𝐚𝐬𝐨𝐧𝟏𝟎𝟎𝟎 (𝐭𝐚π₯𝐀) 19:25, 24 August 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Thanks for letting me know! I got the records updated for TP, and adjusted the category names to match. I specified my record as 100% Plus (it used to be called 200% until we renamed it). There are also two different types of Glitchless rulesets which each have their own leaderboards, but I specified one as "JP Glitchless Ruleset" (a ruleset established by Japanese runners a while back that we still commonly use), and the other as just "Glitchless" (a newer ruleset), in order to hopefully clarify the difference a bit. - JD (talk) 20:40, 24 August 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Great! If there are any categories that are missing that you feel should be added, feel free to add whatever you feel should be listed. I do have decent experience in speedrunning, but nothing Zelda related outside of Link's Crossbow Training. β€” 𝐌𝐚𝐠𝐒𝐜𝐌𝐚𝐬𝐨𝐧𝟏𝟎𝟎𝟎 (𝐭𝐚π₯𝐀) 01:14, 25 August 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]
