Referrences

I've noticed a shortage of referrences/quotes on this page I just made. I always have trouble finding the right quotes, so feel free to add them if you can. —ℕʘℬʘⅅㄚℕʘ1 (User talk:NobodyNo116184@legacy41971512ㄒaʟҡ) 19:36, 29 July 2014 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Personally don't think this page is necessary, it only appears in one game and is just an small optial feature. It could've been added to the Nintendo 3DS page just like the Plai Coins. Chuck (talk) 20:39, 29 July 2014 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Well, it could possibly be merged into the 3DS page, but I don't think that would be necessary right now. Sometimes small things need pages, even if they just barely have anything to do with Zelda. Like the list of characters from Smash Bros. I saw StreetPass was on the Wanted Pages list, so, I figured, why not make it. —ℕʘℬʘⅅㄚℕʘ1 (User talk:NobodyNo116184@legacy41971512ㄒaʟҡ) 00:25, 30 July 2014 (UTC)Reply[reply]
The Smash characters page is also completely unnecessary, specially since there is the SmashWiki to cover all that. StreetPass only appeared as a wanted page because another page or pages links to it, not because it is really wanted, I guess there's a reason nobody care to do it until now. Chuck (talk) 03:23, 30 July 2014 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Well with that logic, the Zelda Wiki shouldn't exist. We should leave Wikipedia all the work. C'mon, the Zelda Wiki has to cover a lot of stuff, man. —ℕʘℬʘⅅㄚℕʘ1 (User talk:NobodyNo116184@legacy41971512ㄒaʟҡ) 06:26, 30 July 2014 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Yeah, but something as small and irrelevant to the series shouldn't really have a whole page for it. The 3DS page could easily hold this information, and if you wanna go in-depth with it, that's why there is a NintendoWiki. Chuck (talk) 07:06, 30 July 2014 (UTC)Reply[reply]
An entire article on StreetPass might not be necessary, but we do need an article for Shadow Link Battles. Maybe the second section of this article could be put towards that. As for the first section, I would agree it's more elaborate than is appropriate for our wiki. I'm sure Nintendo Wiki would be glad to have the content, though.
No need for any work to go to waste. — Hylian King [*] 16:48, 30 July 2014 (UTC)Reply[reply]
So what should we do with it all? —ℕʘℬʘⅅㄚℕʘ1 (User talk:NobodyNo116184@legacy41971512ㄒaʟҡ) 22:59, 30 July 2014 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Like HK said, the Zelda-related stuff should be used to create the Shadow Link Battle page. Chuck (talk) 02:12, 31 July 2014 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Personally, I don't see the article as redundant here. We have articles on consoles and handhelds on this wiki, I don't see why there cannot be a StreetPass article when ALBW featured it. But that's my view point. The Goron Moron (talk) 03:21, 31 July 2014 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Yeah, the Goron Moron knows what I'm talkin' about.
But uh, if it comes to the point where we decide it's unecessary, I volunteer to make the Shadow Link Battle page. —ℕʘℬʘⅅㄚℕʘ1 (User talk:NobodyNo116184@legacy41971512ㄒaʟҡ) 03:26, 31 July 2014 (UTC)Reply[reply]

On merging

Oh hello, looks like it's been 5 years since you discussed merging this page with Shadow Link Battle. I've just done a major update to that page and this one, so I'll put my opinion forward.

Shadow Link Battle includes a brief description of how StreetPass operates, but there are some particular technical details (max titles, max tags, cool-down period, etc.) pertaining to StreetPass that don't solely apply to A Link Between Worlds. Same thing in reverse; A Link Between Worlds manages its StreetPass tags in a unique way. So I've kept the technical details to their respective pages.

StreetPass also works for Hyrule Warriors Legends, though I currently don't know what it does. There's also all the StreetPass Mii Plaza stuff that's detailed in Cameos of The Legend of Zelda in Nintendo Media, but could be mentioned here because it's the most commonly-used StreetPass game and most 3DS owners will encounter it.

StreetPass is also comparable to Tag Mode in Phantom Hourglass.

I think that's just enough information to warrant StreetPass having its own page, but I'm fully open to suggestions for ways to merge it into the other pages. So unless anybody objects, I'll remove that merge-suggestion notice in a little while. Htwretched (talk) 23:20, 28 July 2019 (UTC)Reply[reply]
