"The Ancient Rito Song" is a Shrine Quest in Breath of the Wild.[1]

Overview

After Link has calmed Divine Beast Vah Medoh, he can find Bedoli pacing on Revali's Landing. She has been so happy now that Rito Village is no longer in danger that she began to sing an old song without realizing.[2] She asks Link if he overheard her,[3] but she becomes embarrassed when he wants her to teach him the song.[4] Bedoli starts the song, which describes the heart of a pillar that lights up when the sun is high.[5] However, she is unable to remember the rest of the song.[6] For the rest of the lyrics, she directs Link to seek out her sister, Laissa.[7] With this, the Shrine Quest begins.

Once Link has found Laissa, he will ask her to sing the last half of the song.[8] She agrees to help, but first Link must recite the half he learned from Bedoli.[9] If Link is able to successfuly recall the lyrics, Laissa will keep her promise.[10] The second half describes the pillar's heart shining on an incomplete path, but a Fire would be able to stir its soul.[11] Laissa remarks to Link how profound it is.[12]

At Lake Totori South, which is located south of Rito Village, Link will find a Pedestal. From this angle, the hole in Vah Medoh's Perch resembles a heart. As the sun passes behind the pillar, it will cast a heart-shaped ray of light towards the Pedestal. Link can light either a Torch or a Campfire on top of the Pedestal, which will cause Bareeda Naag Shrine to emerge from the ground.[13] Once the Ancient Shrine has surfaced, the Shrine Quest will be completed.

Objectives

Stage Description
1 "The pride of the Rito, pillar in the sky,
its heart lights up, when the sun is high."

It seems there is more to these lyrics than you heard from Bedoli in Rito Village.

Apparently Bedoli's sister Laissa knows the last half of the song.
2 You have heard the rest of the ancient Rito song from Bedoli's sister, Laissa.

"The pride of the Rito, pillar in the sky
its heart lights up when the sun is high.
The heart shines upon a path not whole,
but a warming flame can stir its soul."

What is the meaning hidden in these lyrics?
Complete "The pride of the Rito, pillar in the sky
its heart lights up when the sun is high.
The heart shines upon a path not whole,
but a warming flame can stir its soul."

The lyrics in the ancient song from the Rito Village were actually a clue to lead to the entrance of a shrine!
