"Impa and the Geoglyphs" |
"The Dragon's Tears" is a Main Quest in Tears of the Kingdom.[1]
Overview
After Link views the Memory "Where Am I?" during "Impa and the Geoglyphs", Impa will appear nearby and ask him what is wrong.[2] After hearing that Link was able to see a vision of the past, she theorizes that Princess Zelda could be connected to the Geoglyphs and their Dragon's Tears.[3] Impa suspects they can find more clues by continuing to investigate the Geoglyphs, and she claims that ancient literature states they can find out more at the Forgotten Temple.[4] Once this conversation is over, "The Dragon's Tears" will begin.
At the entrance to the Forgotten Temple, Link can find Cado tending to Impa's Hot-Air Balloon. He is happy to see Link, and he reveals that once they arrived, Impa went further into the Temple to keep investigating.[5] He plans to join her after he has moored the Hot-Air Balloon.[6] By venturing into the Temple, Link can next meet Impa near the Mayausiy Shrine. She once again thanks Link for fixing her Hot-Air Balloon, and she claims that due to the Forgotten Temple's size, she is having trouble finding anything related to the Geoglyphs.[7]

Past the Mother Goddess Statue is another smaller chamber, at the back of which Link can come across the Floor Map. Impa and Cado follow behind him, and Cado decides that they should see it up close.[8] Impa notices that the walls surrounding the Floor Map depict the Geoglyphs, and the one after that which they saw on the North Hyrule Plain is located near Rito Village.[9] Cado then points out that the locations of all the Geoglyphs are marked on the Floor Map.[10] Impa is shocked that there were still secrets to find within the Forgotten Temple, and she states that they should go and investigate the remaining Geoglyphs.[11] This worries Cado, who insists that she should rest before they leave again.[12] Impa tells Link to look into any Geoglyphs he comes upon during his travels, since they could help lead them to Princess Zelda.[13]
Excluding the one found on North Hyrule Plain, a total of 10 Geoglyphs remain for Link to investigate. By finding their Dragon's Tears, he will be able to view one of Zelda's Memories from the ancient past. The locations of the Dragon's Tears and their respective Memories are as follows:

After Link views the first 11 Memories from the Dragon's Tears, he will be startled by the Light Dragon roaring from above him. As she flies, the Light Dragon sheds another Dragon's Tear, which lands at the tip of Rist Peninsula. By examining the final Dragon's Tear, Link will be able to view "Tears of the Dragon".
When the Memory ends, several Silent Princesses can be seen to have sprouted around where the Dragon's Tear landed. The Light Dragon roars once again, and Link watches as she flies away. As he does so, "The Dragon's Tears" will be completed.

Link? You look distracted. What's wrong?
— Impa (Tears of the Kingdom) - ↑
Goodness! You say you had a vision? Saw mysterious figures? And then Princess Zelda?! Hmm... The geoglyphs, the literature, the Dragon's Tears...and now, a vision of the lost princess. What if these are all connected?

Let us continue to examine the geoglyphs. They may contain further clues that lead to Princess Zelda. You know, according to the literature, there is something to do with geoglyphs in the Forgotten Temple. The Forgotten Temple lies at the bottom of a canyon in Hebra. I think we should make our way there soon.

Oh! Link! I am so pleased that you've come here as well. To be honest, Lady Impa deduced that there is something related to the geoglyphs here. It took some effort for us to get up here, but we managed it. But then Lady Impa grew impatient. The moment I took my eyes off her, she went deep into the temple all by herself.
— Cado (Tears of the Kingdom) - ↑
Once I finish mooring the balloon, I plan to hurry after her.
— Cado (Tears of the Kingdom) - ↑
Oh, Link! Thank you again for your help with the balloon. I believe there is something related to the geoglyphs somewhere within this temple. I am searching, but so far, it has been in vain. The chambers here are enormous, so it will be a difficult task at best. Where could it be...
— Impa (Tears of the Kingdom) - ↑
Ahhh. This place...
— Impa (Tears of the Kingdom)Lady Impa, let's head down. We must investigate up close...
— Cado (Tears of the Kingdom) - ↑
There, upon the walls... Are those not...geoglyphs?! Hm. What could this mean? Hm. I believe the one we saw first was the geoglyph on the left edge of the wall. As for the next painting... According to the floor map, it is near Rito Village.
— Impa (Tears of the Kingdom) - ↑
It seems the locations of the other geoglyphs from the wall are marked on the floor map as well.
— Cado (Tears of the Kingdom) - ↑
I can hardly believe what my eyes behold. Who could have guessed this old ruin still held such secrets? It is said that the geoglyphs appeared all over Hyrule during the Upheaval when Princess Zelda went missing. Hm. How are they connected to these images here... There is no time to dawdle! Let us hurry and investigate the remaining geoglyphs.
— Impa (Tears of the Kingdom) - ↑
Oh! L-Lady Impa... Perhaps you should rest a bit before such a trying journey.
— Cado (Tears of the Kingdom) - ↑
Link, if you happen to see a geoglyph during your travels, I urge you to investigate this matter as well. If more strange visions are waiting at the other geoglyphs, just like the one you already experienced, well... Perhaps they will provide clues that could lead us to Princess Zelda.
