The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition is a Nintendo Switch 2 remaster of the Wii U and Nintendo Switch game, Breath of the Wild.[1]
Game Information
Breath of the Wild – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition does not come packaged with the Downloadable Content packs The Master Trials and The Champions' Ballad, nor does it contain any of the bonus Breath of the Wild Expansion Pass contents. In order to access this content, these must be purchased separately.[2]
Breath of the Wild – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition can be purchased as a complete box, which contains the base Breath of the Wild and an upgrade pack. As with all Nintendo Switch 2 Edition titles, physical cartridges inserted in a Nintendo Switch will play the original game. Alternatively, it is possible to purchase an upgrade pack separately from the Nintendo eShop or as a redeemable digital code on a formatted card from retail stores.[1] The upgrade pack is compatible with existing copies of Breath of the Wild produced for the original Nintendo Switch.[1] Members with an existing Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack subscription can also play the Nintendo Switch 2 Edition of Breath of the Wild after purchasing the base game for no additional cost while the subscription is active.[1]
For players with existing copies of Breath of the Wild, Save data can be transferred from their Nintendo Switch versions of Breath of the Wild to Breath of the Wild – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition.[1]
Changes and Additions
Breath of the Wild – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition offers compatibility with the Nintendo Switch App's Zelda Notes service. By using Zelda Notes while playing Breath of the Wild – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition, players can unlock various benefits. For instance, additional story details can be heard through the Voice Memories on the Zelda Notes service.

An additional save file has been added to the game, allowing for two concurrent adventures.
Graphics
In addition to improved frame rates and resolution, Breath of the Wild – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition is capable of supporting High Dynamic Range,[1] which allows for a clearer picture during gameplay.
