The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Nintendo Switch 2 Edition is a Nintendo Switch 2 enhanced port of the Nintendo Switch game, Tears of the Kingdom.^[1]

Game Information

Save data can be transferred from existing Nintendo Switch versions of Tears of the Kingdom to Tears of the Kingdom – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition.^[1]

Tears of the Kingdom – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition can be purchased as a complete box, which contains the base Tears of the Kingdom and an upgrade pack. As with all Nintendo Switch 2 Edition titles, physical cartridges inserted in a Nintendo Switch will play the original game. Alternatively, it is possible to purchase an upgrade pack separately from the Nintendo eShop or as a redeemable digital code on a formatted card from retail stores.^[1] The upgrade pack is compatible with existing copies of Tears of the Kingdom produced for the original Nintendo Switch.^[1] Members with an existing Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack subscription can also play the Nintendo Switch 2 Edition of Tears of the Kingdom after purchasing the base game for no additional cost while the subscription is active.^[1]

Tears of the Kingdom – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition offers compatibility with the Nintendo Switch App's Zelda Notes service.^[1] This service offers a wide range of features:

Feature	Navigation
Details	Allows players to view a version of the world's Map on the Nintendo Switch App. Players can view the locations of Shrines of Light and Koroks that they have not yet completed or discovered.
Feature	Voice Memories
Details	Allows players to discover new stories across the Map at points of interested. The Memories are told by Princess Zelda, Rauru and Master Kohga.
Feature	Autobuild Sharing
Details	Allows players to share their Ultrahand designs with others with QR codes that they can share on social media.
Feature	Item Sharing
Details	Allows players to create an Item Box that they can share with others using a QR code. The Item Box can contain up to 100 Items at a time.
Feature	Photo Studio
Details	Allows players to send photos they take in the game to the Nintendo Switch App and edit them. They can crop them, add stamps or QR codes to share their Item Box or Ultrahand creations.
Feature	My Play Data
Details	Allows players to view their activity and gameplay statistics, and to collect various Medals based on those statistics.
Feature	Global Play Data
Details	Allows players to view global statistics and compare their own activity with players worldwide.
Feature	Daily Bonus
Details	Allows players to spin a roulette which grants a single Added Effect and other bonuses per day.
Feature	amiibo
Details	Tracks amiibo scans and unlocks an additional scan per day for a single amiibo figure after a 5th cumulative scan of that same amiibo.

In contrast to the original version of Tears of the Kingdom, there are now two manual save files available.^[1]

Tears of the Kingdom – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition features High Dynamic Range support, as well as an enhanced resolution and frame rate.^[1] Load times have been reduced from the Nintendo Switch version of the game.^[1]
