Link's Awakening instruction booklet
Toadstools are strange Mushrooms that only grow in one place within the Mysterious Woods.[1][4] They have a mellow scent.[5] If Link gathers one and brings it to Syrup, she will grind it to make him some Magic Powder.[6][3] Toadstools can cause unusual effects when eaten.[7] Tarin, who has a fondness for Mushrooms, ate one while foraging in the Mysterious Woods and was transformed into a Raccoon.[8] Link can use the Magic Powder to turn him back to normal.[6]
