Tornadoes are Objects that appear early in the Shrine of Air, appearing as small moving twisters that wander aimlessly. Unlike most obstacles, they cannot be dispatched with the Wand, and can only be quelled by casting the Spell of Calm.[3] Tornadoes take three hits of the Calm Spell's projectiles before they recede.

Location and Uses
The Minish Cap
Tornadoes are three large vortexes that appear at the Veil Springs, atop the Cloud Tops, and inside the Palace of Winds. They propel Link upwards into the Sky, allowing him to reach the Cloud Tops, the Palace of Winds, and the Gyorg Pair respectively.
The Crimson Cyclones that appear in the Cloud Tops function identically to Tornadoes in that they launch Link upwards into a new area, but they are smaller and take the appearance of red Updrafts.
Echoes of Wisdom
Tornadoes are rotating columns of Wind that Tornandoes wreathe themselves in.[4] The Frog Monsters use them to make whatever they charge at fly up into the air. While Tornadoes cannot be directly Learned as an Echo, but will appear alongside Echoes of Tornandoes.

OK, this might sound a little odd, but...do you believe in tornado ghosts? See, I got caught up in a sandstorm recently when this tornado comes whirling at me! It was hard to see clearly, what with all the sand, but I could swear I saw a face in the tornado... It must've been a ghost! But...why would it be chasing me? Did I anger the spirits or something? Was it real? Did I imagine it? If I could see it again, then I'd know for sure.
