Treasure Maze
The Treasure Maze is a Mini-Game in Phantom Hourglass.[1]
Location and Rules
The Treasure Maze is located on Maze Island, where it takes up the entirety of the island, save for a small landing area in the southwest corner. Link can play the Mini-Game by striking the Boing Statue near the maze's entrance and paying the fee.
The Mini-Game begins with a number of Boing Statues appearing throughout the maze. The door to the maze then opens, and the countdown timer begins. Link must navigate the maze to locate and strike each of the Boing Statues, then make his way to a platform near the center and open a large Treasure Chest before time runs out.[2] If he fails, he will be ejected from the maze and encouraged to try again.
The Treasure Maze has three difficulty levels.[3] The Boing Statue automatically places Link in the lowest difficulty he has yet to complete. The Beginner level costs 20 Rupees to play, and Link is given 90 seconds to find four Boing Statues.[4] The Normal level costs 50 Rupees, and Link has 100 seconds to find eight Boing Statues.[5] The Expert level costs 100 Rupees, and Link has 120 seconds to find 14 Boing Statues.[6] While the locations of the Boing Statues are shown on the Map as they appear, when playing the Normal or Expert level, they disappear from the Map after 20 seconds.[7]
Complicating the Treasure Maze are several traps and impassible gaps. A number of Eyeball Switches and Shock Switches can be activated to extend bridges and/or retract Floor Spikes. Some stairsets allow Link to travel higher paths, while several walls can be bombed to create shortcuts. On the Expert level, the Grappling Hook is required to reach one of the Boing Statues.
For the Beginner level, the Treasure Chest at the end of the maze contains a Wisdom Gem. For the Normal level, it contains Treasure Map #27. Finally, for the Expert level, it contains a Heart Container. After clearing all levels, Link has his name etched into the Treasure Maze Hall of Fame,[8][9] and the Boing Statue personally gifts him a Treasure Chest containing a Big Gold Rupee.[10] Link can then freely explore Maze Island, where another Wisdom Gem and three Big Green Rupees are hidden.[11]

Oh, it's you. You already completed all of the challenges here. But if here is where you really want to play, who am I to argue? And something might just be hidden in there. Who can say? Just stand in front of the door and it will open. Have at it, kid!
