Legacy User Talk Page
This is a talk page for a legacy account, which is a very old wiki account that has long been abandoned. This page is locked from editing as it's here to preserve history. If you came here to send this user a message, you may instead notify a Staff member as this user will most-likely not respond.

Getting Started

Hey there, Thief.

First of all, on behalf of the Zelda Wiki Staff, welcome to the Wiki!

I've noticed you've been having problems lately, such as with the creation of your userpage. I'm assuming you no longer need help, as you've seem to have created a userpage on your own just fine. If you still have questions, feel free to ask me or any of the other staff members here at the Wiki. Most of us practically live for the Wiki, so we'd be happy to help you in any way we can. :) You can ask any of us personally or submit your question at Hyrule Castle, which is the proper place to ask questions concerning the Wiki (and not the main discussion page or the Help Guide discussion page). Of course, it'd be best to give the Help Guide a thorough read; it's the best and fastest way to learning your way around the Wiki, thus minimizing embarrassing mistakes (trust me, I would know!)

One of the first things you should know is how to properly sign your posts on discussion pages. To sign a comment, all you have to do is insert four tildes (~~~~) at the end. That's it! Just those four tildes creates a timestamp and a link to your userpage that tells everyone when the comment was made and who made it. You can even create a custom signature (like mine) if you wish. But I'm getting ahead of myself...

By the way, your contribution to the BS The Legend of Zelda: Triforce of the Gods page was reverted, since it was basically a copy-paste from Wikipedia and was really about a different game anyways. Although I'm sure you meant well, plagiarism, despite being technically allowed, is something that is highly frowned upon here at the Wiki. If you wish to make text contributions, it'll have to be in your own words!

Well, that's all for now. See you around the Wiki! — Hylian King [*] 18:21, 29 May 2011 (EDT)

PS: I replied to your posts on your talk page to make sure that you saw it. Keep in mind that conversations at the Wiki are usually kept on one discussion page for organizational purposes.

Thank you~ Thank you for your help sorry about the copy and paste I was just getting the information there so I could work on it and get it right and was trying to figure out how to cite my source which I will study more before making such a large contribution. but yes I think I got some of the basics down for making my user page.Theif 1 01:14, 30 May 2011 (EDT)

No problem. Wiki editing is a learning process. It's pretty much inevitable for a few rookie mistakes like these to happen when you're starting out. There was a time when I myself didn't sign comments properly, or made multiple edits to a same page because I didn't use the "show preview" button. Heck, I still have much to learn about how Wikis work!
Anyways, the good news is, it's all uphill from here. Keep at it! — Hylian King [*] 08:21, 30 May 2011 (EDT)
