The Volcanic Talus is a Sub-Boss found in the Summit Cave. Closely resembling the Seismic Talus, it is a large, humanoid rock Monster that rests upon a ball hinge. It is wreathed in Fire. The Gorons inhabiting Eldin Volcano have passed down stories about a flame giant with Fire hot enough to burn Gorons being sealed inside the Volcano.[2]
Unlike the Seismic Talus, the span of time given to to pull out the Volcanic Talus' ball hinge weak point with Bind is shorter, particularly during the final phases. However, extinguishing the flames of the Talus' individual parts removes the flaming effect from its attacks and extends the time to pull out the ball hinge, making the Volcanic Talus easier to stun. The flames can be extinguished with any form of Water, Ice attack, or Wind gust.
After it is defeated, the Volcanic Talus will drop 95 Rupees and a Piece of Heart. A blue Warp Point will also appear to return Princess Zelda to the Summit Cave's entrance.
