West Courtyard

The West Courtyard is a location in Ocarina of Time.^[1] The West Courtyard goes unnamed in Ocarina of Time 3D.

Features and Overview

The West Courtyard is an open-air garden inside the Forest Temple. A small river cuts across its northwest corner where arches sit. Hearts can be found atop these arches. A balcony sits along the western wall, where three Doors lead to and from other rooms in the Temple. The southernmost Door on this balcony leads into the Stone Tower while the western Door leads to a room with a Floormaster and a Treasure Chest. The northern Door on the balcony leads from 1F's northwestern room, which is first accessed by falling from the Twisted Hallway's upright position. A wall of Vines connecting to a ledge on the second floor of the Temple can be found along the northeastern wall. The Door found on this ledge leads to a balcony in the East Courtyard.

A Well with a hidden tunnel connecting to the East Courtyard can be found in its south. Once Link has drained the water from the Wells connecting the West and East Courtyards, he can climb to and from the connecting tunnel with the wall of Vines growing on the inside of the Well.

Due to the mirroring effect, the West Courtyard is paradoxically located on the east side of the Forest Temple in the Ocarina of Time 3D version of the Master Quest mode. In addition to being mirrored, the room is slightly altered and features different puzzles and Enemies. The western 2F ledge is now blocked by a Web. This Web is also present in the 2F hallway connecting to the East Courtyard, where it can be burned by shooting an Arrow through the Torch or with Din's Fire. The Time Block that obstructed its entrance is no longer present, as a golden Eye Switch now controls a portcullis barring the Door from within the Main Room.
