The West Gerudo Ruins are a recurring location in The Legend of Zelda series.[1][2]

Features and Overview

Breath of the Wild

The West Gerudo Ruins are located throughout the West Barrens of the Gerudo Desert. They are a scattered set of Gerudo Ruins, bearing the Gerudo architectural style distinct from the rest of Hyrule Kingdom.[3] Several of the Swordswomen Statues are situated within the Ruins. During the day, Link needs at least two levels of Heat Resistance in order to survive the intense Heat at the West Gerudo Ruins without taking damage. At night, the Ruins become a Freezing Climate, and Link will need at least two levels of Cold Resistance. In addition to this, the West Gerudo Ruins will initially be subject to the Sandstorm that sweeps over the West Barrens.[4]

During "The Silent Swordswomen" Shrine Quest, Link will pass through the West Gerudo Ruins while following the Swordswomen Statues in the West Barrens.[5] Once Link reaches Kema Zoos Shrine, the Sandstorm will end.

One Korok Seed Puzzle can be found among the West Gerudo Ruins. It takes the form of a Race on one of the southern Ruins. When Link completes the Race, a Korok will appear and give him a Korok Seed.[6]
