The West Hyrule Plains is a recurring location in The Legend of Zelda series.[1][2]

Features and Overview

Breath of the Wild

The West Hyrule Plains are a series of plains located between Hyrule Field and the Tabantha Frontier. The Hilltop High Road cuts through the Plains, and they are connected to Mount Gustaf by a land bridge that crosses over the Regencia River. An unoccupied campsite can be found in a small marsh in the northern Plain. A Monster Stronghold has been established in the ruins in the southern Plain. Various Barrels and Wooden Boxes that contain Acorns and Apples can be found within this camp.

South of these ruins stand several Stone Rings which face various directions. The traveling Rito bard, Kass, can be found atop a rock formation in the far southern reaches of the West Hyrule Plains. He is there in search of the source of the last "Ancient Song" that his teacher, the Court Poet, taught him.[3] He offers to play the song for Link,[4] the lyrics of which describe threading two Stone Rings with an Arrow to reveal an Ancient Shrine.[5] This begins the Shrine Quest "The Two Rings". When Link is able to shoot an Arrow through two Stone Rings, Sheem Dagoze Shrine will rise from the ground.[6]

Another traveler, Chabi, can be found fighting against a Blue Bokoblin near her Tent, which is located on the West Hyrule Plains at a fork in the Hilltop High Road. If Link saves her, she will give him Monster Extract as a reward.[7][8]

A Yiga Footsoldier may pass through the West Hyrule Plains disguised as a Traveler. In addition to this, A Blue Hinox can be found resting in the southern Plain.[9] If Master Mode is active, it is replaced with a Black Hinox.
