"[Xenoblade Chronicles 2]" is a Side Quest in Breath of the Wild.[1]

Overview

This Side Quest is a collaboration with Xenoblade Chronicles 2 and is obtained after downloading the Version 1.3.3 update and upon leaving the Great Plateau. The Quest will activate upon loading the overworld of Hyrule Kingdom, which can be done by Warping, reloading a save file, dying, or leaving an Ancient Shrine.

When the Side Quest is activated, Link is tasked with finding three red Shooting Stars.[2] The Quest also instructs Link to look to the south from the middle of the largest bridge, to the east from the skull's left eye, and to the southwest from the peak of a tall, pierced mountain.[3] If Link is looking at the correct place during the night, a red Shooting Star will come hurtling down and crash, leaving a metallic Treasure Chest that emits a red column of light during the night. The Chest will remain at the location it landed and emit the column of light every night until opened. It can also be found and opened during the day but will not emit the column of light to highlight its location.

The Treasure Chest containing Salvager Headwear can be found by looking south from the middle of the Bridge of Hylia. The Chest with the Salvager Vest will fall while looking east from the left eye of Skull Lake. Finally, the Chest storing the Salvager Trousers can be found looking southwest from Hebra Peak. Upon retrieving all three pieces of Armor, Link will complete the Quest.
