Yiga Clan Training is a Mini-Game in Tears of the Kingdom.[1]

Overview

Yiga Clan Training is an exercise conducted by the Yiga Clan to develop their fighting skills.[2][3] Due to Link's presence, members of the Yiga Clan have begun taking their training more seriously.[2] If Link wears the Yiga Clan Attire, he can infiltrate the Yiga Clan Hideout and speak to the Yiga Blademaster inside. The Blademaster mistakes him for a new recruit and offers to let Link participate in their Training at the cost of 100 Rupees per attempt.[2] On Link's first attempt, the Blademaster will waive the fee.[4]

Gameplay and Rules

Yiga Clan Training consists of fighting against an endless wave of Yiga Footsoldiers over the course of one minute.[5][6] There are three stages, which must be completed sequentially in order to challenge the next stage and receive rewards.[7][8] During the Training, the Yiga Clan will attempt to kill Link.[9][10] In the first stage, Link must defeat three Yiga Footsoldiers.[11] The round will end upon doing so, even if there is still time remaining.[12] He will then be given a reward for his accomplishment.[8]

The second stage can only be attempted after clearing the first. In the second stage, Link is challenged to defeat six Yiga Footsoldiers.[13] Upon successfully doing so, Link will be stopped and given a reward.[8][14] In the third stage, Link is challenged to defeat nine Yiga Footsoldiers.[15] Like in previous stages, the Training will end when Link successfully defeats the ninth Footsoldier.[16] Link can continue to take part in the Training even after beating the record of defeating nine opponents, though there is no prize for doing so.[17] Out of respect for Link's ambition, the Yiga Blademaster will waive any future fees.[17]

The Yiga Footsoldiers may be equipped with either Eightfold Blades or Duplex Bows. They will not drop any spoils when defeated, though the Arrows they shoot may be picked up. If Link attempts to leave the area while the Mini-Game is underway, he will be reprimanded by the Yiga Blademaster hosting it.[18] Additionally, it is impossible to Warp away during the Mini-Game.[19] If Link removes his Armor during the Training, he will be taken outside of the Yiga Clan Hideout to fight the Yiga Clan Enforcers.[20]

Rewards

The Yiga Blademaster will compliment Link on his greed if he asks about the prizes for completing the Training.[21] In recognition for passing the second stage, Link will be recognized as a true member of the Yiga Clan.[22]
