Biography

Breath of the Wild

Yolero is a Hylian that can be found at the Wetland Stable in the Lanayru Wetlands. During the daytime, he practices swinging a Torch at a wooden dummy outside the Stable. If Link attempts to speak to him while he is practicing, Yolero will stop and ask if he is a wanderer.[4] Regardless of Link's response, Yolero excitedly shares that he possesses the legendary Weapon known as the Master Torch, a Weapon that can only be wielded by the chosen hero.[5][6][7][8]

Upon revealing the name of his legendary Weapon, Yolero dismisses Link so that he can practice. Afterwards, Yolero will muse on his Weapon's magical properties, reciting a corrupted version of the Master Sword's alias, the Sword That Seals the Darkness, as the "flame that lights the darkness".[9] He will also threaten to burn Link with the sacred light from his Torch for bothering him.[10] Despite Yolero's claims, his Weapon appears to be a normal Torch. His younger brother, Ami, refers to his practice sessions as simply playing.[1]

If Link speaks to Yolero after obtaining the Master Sword, Yolero asks what the Weapon is called, remarking that it probably could not sustain a fire.[11] If Link responds truthfully, Yolero remarks that it's an "off-brand knockoff" of his own Weapon.[12]
