Gloom Spawn and Gloom Hand

Hey there. I noticed that you added a few new enemies to pages, though I haven't been able to find any names for them myself. Could you explain what Gloom Spawns are and where you were able to find that name in-game? I would also appreciate it if you could tell me where you found Gloom Hand. Thanks! Gloom Spawn are the animated puddles of Gloom with the hands growing out of them, you'll know when you find one because the sky turns blood red- I've seen them in Hyrule Castle's Docks and the Exchange Ruins, and they appear in the Deku Tree as part of a quest. For some reason they're not in the Compendium, but the name is given in a loading screen. Disregard the Gloom Hand, that was a mistaken name.Anothrgamer1234 (talk) 12:43, 15 May 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Thank you for letting me know, we're looking for a citation for them so we can make a page for them ASAP. TriforceTony (talk) 13:40, 15 May 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Also, were you able to find "Pool of Gloom" anywhere in-game? We don't allow for fan-made names, so I've removed it for now just to be safe. If we can't find anything like that, we might just need to call it "Gloom" instead. TriforceTony (talk) 13:51, 15 May 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Just calling it "Gloom" would probably work best for now. I merely adapted the name from the Pool of Malice, given that there is no discernible connection between Gloom and Malice and that the latter has no appearances in TotK. I should also add that if a Gloom Spawn is slain (which is very difficult given that it can survive multiple bomb arrows and deals Gloom damage with its attacks even outside of the Depths), it spawns a Phantom Ganon even in the overworld, making the latter technically count as an overworld boss. I could be wrong about Gloom Spawn not being in the Compendium, though- I've never gotten the chance to use the camera on them without having to beat a hasty escape. I wasn't able to find anything like that through my research, but I don't have the game at the moment so I can't check. As far as anyone I've asked knows, you can't find them in the Compendium. I was aware about Phantom Ganon, though I don't know exactly how many times you can fight him this way. For what it's worth, even in the depths it would count as an "overworld boss", though that phrasing should probably be updated. TriforceTony (talk) 14:26, 15 May 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Most of what I found online about them uses the "Gloom Hand" name, which is where I originally got it from and why the official name is comparatively obscure- I only learned about it by accident when the load screen tip mentioned them. I also forgot to mention one other thing: Gloom Spawn connected to a single cluster (they always appear in groups of five) respawn if too much time is elapsed between killing each individual. --Anothrgamer1234 (talk) 14:37, 15 May 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]
I've since found a second mention of the Gloom Spawn name, given by an NPC called Oliff in front of the gate to Hyrule Castle.Anothrgamer1234 (talk) 19:31, 16 May 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]
