The following information is provided by the owner of Kasuto.net, known by the pseudonym Kasuto of Kataan. Kasuto.net was founded on August 16th, 2000 primarily as a place to showcase my own fan fiction, as well as fan works created by others. I had originally posted my own stories on the numerous Zelda sites at the time, and after writing my fourth one, I decided to create my own site to post my work on. The main focus of the site was always fan fiction and fan art. Kasuto.net rarely focused on current news or events, and was mostly about posting new fan works.
The most prolific updating period of the site was mostly between 2000 and 2003. The forum of the website, called the Vinculum had its greatest popularity between 2003 and 2008, with little going on in the last several years. Updates of the main site mostly vanished until 2011 when I made a few sporadic updates. A combination of a busy school and work life and a lack of motivation led to the lack of updates. The only section that is still relatively active is the Post Your Own Work section, which allows people to post their stories and poetry.
Kasuto.net remains online mostly as an archive of the Zelda fan community that existed in the past. I currently have no plans on retiring the site, even if I don't update it any more.
