Toadpolis were enemies in The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess and Link's Crossbow Training that many believed to be Octoroks in the game.  They appear very rarely in only a few places.  Where they can be found include early on in the Goron Mines dungeon and behind the Lake Hylia Howling Stone.  They appear as frogs but act very similarly to an Octorok in previous 3d Zelda games.  Larger versions of these monsters can be seen swimming underwater like fish in the Goron Mines. Toadpolis can also be found in the Goron Mines, as a fire version. These spit fireballs and Link.
Nomenclature
Their name may be a combination of the word "Toad" and the word "Polliwog," which is a synonym for "Tadpole".
Nomenclature

They appear in the Rapids Ride level in Link's Crossbow Training.

They also bear an appearance and similar attacks as Zolas in the Original Legend of Zelda, and Link's Awakening. Also they bear a resemblance to the Deku Toad.  It is possible that they are its offspring after they go through the tadpole stage.
