The Master Stalfos is a mini boss in Link's Awakening in Catfish's Maw.  Master Stalfos was fought four times, and upon defeat, he left Link with the Hookshot. Link defeated Master Stalfos by hitting him with his sword, and then placing a bomb on him, and repeating until he left the room or was defeated.

The is a LA in LA.

Characteristics
It appears in the fifth LA, LA. He is a big LA who steals the LA from a LA in the LA after LA's first battle with him, leaving a note for LA to find. He flees from LA after sustaining a certain amount of damage in battle. LA is fought four times in four different rooms in the LA, each with a skull pattern on the floor. Each room is numbered with a block in the corner of the room, and he will flee from the first room to the second, then from the second to third, before finally hiding in the fourth room deep in the LA. Like a ALttP from ALttP he will crumble after hit by the LA before reanimating. While crumbled, he must be hit with a LA to damage him, otherwise he will simply keep fighting. The easiest way to stun LA is to charge the LA, use the LA to jump towards him, and release the LA while in midair on the east side of LA. Unlike LA, he actively swings his sword at LA and is able to send him flying, and defends himself with a large shield. Upon his final defeat in the fourth room, he drops the LA.

Trivia
*It is possible to destroy LA in the first three battles by using two LA on him during the final hit before he flees. This is easiest done by using LA. When destroyed, he will drop a LA. He will still return later in each subsequent room, allowing LA to collect three extra LA.
*The Japanese name for LA is マスタースタルフォン. "Stalfon" is the Japanese name for LA.

Master Stalfos bears a resemblance to the Stalfos Warrior from A Link to the Past, and those from Twilight Princess, both in appearance and in the way Link defeated them.
