[[File:Plasmarine_moving.gif|left]]Plasmarine (プラズマリン, ''Purazumarin'') was a jellyfish-like boss that haunted the inner bowels of [[Jabu-Jabu's Belly]] in ''[[The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages|Oracle of Ages]]''. Link had to fight this beast to acquire [[Essences of Time#Rolling Sea||Rolling Sea]], the seventh of eight [[Essences of Time]] necessary to restore power to the [[Maku Tree (female)|Maku Tree]] and destroy the sorceress [[Veran]]. Plasmarine had two attack modes: blue, in which it hunted down targets and shot bolts of electricity at it, and red, when it attempted to electrify itself to hurt nearby intruders. Link destroyed the creature by using the [[Switch Hook|Long Hook]] to flip Plasmarine onto its own electrical bolts. As the creature died, it left the Rolling Sea unguarded, which Link immediately added to his almost-complete collection of Essences.

Plasmarine is arguably the easiest boss in ''Oracle of Ages'', compensation for a challenging dungeon. By waiting until Plasmarine attacks, Link would then use the Long Hook to swap positions with Plasmarine, forcing it to take its own attack. Its red attacks would injure its blue form, and vice versa.
{{Term|OoA|Plasmarine}} is a jellyfish-like creature that is battled in an underwater room, where {{Term|OoA|Link|link}} is unable to attack using his {{Term|OoA|Sword|link}}. {{Term|OoA|Plasmarine}} is susceptible to the {{Term|OoA|Long Hook|link}} and will alternate between its blue form and its red form each time {{Term|OoA|Link}} uses the item on it. {{Term|OoA|Plasmarine}}'s method of attack is to swim quickly to {{Term|OoA|Link}}'s location, stopping briefly to either shoot an electric ball toward him, or try to electrocute him on the spot. The electric ball produced is always the same color as the {{Term|OoA|Boss}}'s present form; {{Term|OoA|Link}} must use the {{Term|OoA|Long Hook}} to both displace the {{Term|OoA|Boss}} and switch its color, so that it gets hit by its own attack. As {{Term|OoA|Plasmarine}} takes damage, it will begin to fire more electric balls in succession. After taking enough damage, it will be defeated, leaving behind a {{Term|OoA|Heart Container|link}} and opening the door to the {{Term|OoA|Rolling Sea|link}}.
