| Just now I noticed that all the edits I've made in the past few hours have vanished, along with any sign of their existence. All of the articles I've edited appear as they did before I edited them, and the edits no longer appear in Recent Changes or in my contribution log. | The current symbol for Shadow Dungeons is a dark and demonic bat head thing. In my opinion, I think it looks just a little bit silly. Wouldn't a black or purple skull be more suitable? | :::It this point, we're really just nitpicking: skulls, bats, rats, ghosts - they could all suffice for "Shadow" dungeons, and there isn't one that's more representative than the other. This being said, a skull wouldn't really be a change for the better, it would be a change from something that works to something that works equally well. [[File:Forest Medallion.png|30px]] for Forest dungeons, [[File:Fire Medallion.png|30px]] for Fire, [[File:Water Medallion.png|30px]] for Water, obviously, [[File:Spirit Medallion.png|30px]] possibly for Desert? I know its "Spirit" but the Spirit Temple is a desert temple, so go figure. To be honest I'm not even sure if we need any more aside from [[File:Shadow Medallion.png|30px]] Shadow, that covers most dungeons aside from neutral ones if you ask me. | :If I remember correctly, the medallions were used for the element infobox field before the Element template was created. The thing is, there's no Ice Medallion, Earth Medallion, or Wind Medallion. If we did use medallions, we'd end up having to use something completely different for the other elements, and that would just look plain weird. Consistency is key: if we could accomplish that with in-game symbols, great. But we can't (right?), so that's why we're using the ones we are now. I really don't see any problem with the symbols we have now. | ::I agree. That would just look kind of wierd. But I think that maybe we could find something better for the Shadow Dungeon symbol. I kind of like the idea of the skull, it just kind adds more fear then a bat thing, not that that really matters. And in the case of the medallions, my first zelda game was the latest one at the time, Spirit Tracks. I didn't even know about Ocarina of Time until the commercials for the 3DS remake came up so I would've originally looked at the shadow medallion and said "What on earth is that!'. --[[User:Person777|Person777]] 13:16, 4 February 2012 (EST)

| ::There MUST be a suitable ice symbol somewhere. As for the other two... What the heck is an Earth Temple anyway? There's only two Earth Temples and they're both Shadow and Fire elements respectively. Same with Wind, there's only two of them and one of them is more like Shadow (or Earth, even, oddly) than Wind and the other is more like Forest. Oh, wait, there's the Wind Palace... nevermind. Isn't there a Wind symbol in TWW or TMC somewhere? I'm sure there's one in TMC. Also, I don't mean bad to Abdullah, I appreciate the contribution of course, but... | Hello. I'm starting a The Legend of Zelda roleplay site. I've been using exclusive pictures and information from the Zelda Wiki, and use it for all my sources. I was wondering if the Zelda Wiki would Affiliate with me, with my site specified as a roleplay site, as I need ways to gather players. I'd post a link to my site, but that would be quite presumptuous.

| If this is not allowed, is there a popular Wiki for The Legend of Zelda fanfiction or fanon that might allow a link to my site? Again, most Wikis list their fanon cousins, but the Zelda Wiki doesn't seem to. Pikmin Fanon is in NIWA, but it seems to be the only fanon Wiki in it.

| I am putting this down here to avoid an edit war, because I'm seeing an issue cropping up more and more recently. On the [[Tentalus]] page, there seems a consistent attempt to include the fact that Tentalus looks a bit like a Monster's Inc. character. I, personally, think this is silly (its a generic looking cyclops monster rendered in 3D, of COURSE it looks a bit like a generic Monster's Inc. character, that doesn't mean its noteworthy), and replaced it with what I thought was more interesting; that its possibly a reference to Medusa from Kid Icarus (look it up, her old design is pretty damn similar, and its a Nintendo game, possibly cross-reference in action). Rather than simply add the Monster's Inc. thing back, my trivia was removed entirely in favour of the Monster's Inc. trivia on the flimsy basis of some FORUM posts.

| Obviously I could just revert it back again, but to avoid an edit war I want to just get the policy straight, as I am seeing this more and more recently; me and K2L removed references to General Grevious, a Star Wars character, from the [[Stalmaster]] page, because its not noteworthy (Grevious is NOT the only four-armed warrior in fiction, by any means), and [[Demise]] had mention that he looked like Akuma from Street Fighter (because they're both based on oni, not because Demise is based on Akuma). By the same logic, we should probably mention on the [[Link]] page that he looks a bit like Peter Pan, or that Fairies look like Tinkerbell.

They are probably not even intended by Nintendo and are just a fan's desire to find a non-existent connections to everything. :P If it were up to me, I'd delete all instances of such "cross-references"! | ::Hey guys, the trivia bit was added by me, both times, and I feel it is legitimate because I was able to find references in the community of those who think the same. Trivia similar to this in the past did not have any references and was justly removed because it had ''no community support''. With trivia and theories here on ZW, we expect community support and because we are the wiki of the Zelda community we must be accurate in these areas to reflect what the community sees as viable. It is a self-correcting mechanism - if there isn't enough support, it simply does not get posted... but I was able to find two forum posts with legitimate discussion for it. In lieu of references, this should stay up! Furthermore, search "Tentalus" and "Monsters, Inc." in the same search; countless results pop up of Zelda players discussing the similarity. | Hi there, Osteoderm Jacket again. I've found higher-quality maps of some of the dungeons in Link's Awakening. Can I just go ahead and upload an improved version of an image without asking anyone, or is there a procedure that I'm supposed to follow first? The help section on image uploading doesn't say anything about it. Also, for future reference, is this the sort of thing I should just assume I can do without asking first, and what things on this wiki am I able to do immediately but in practice should ask permission for first?

| Also, I understand that if they're a different file type from the image to be replaced I can't actually upload them as a new version of that file. | :As for your first question, yes, you can go ahead and replace it without consulting anyone. Just make sure you cite where you got the image from! Secondly, there are quite a few things you could go ahead and do in the wiki without discussion, but it is usually not advised!! Since this is a community project, all members should at least have a say in any big changes that pertain to the wiki. Anything that has to do with articles (moving, merging, splitting, etc.) should always be discussed first. Things dealing with images don't really have to be discussed, however, such as what you are trying to do.

| :Lastly, the superseded image (in case you uploaded it separately) should be marked with the [[Template:Imdel|Imdel template]] and say it has been superseded or something to that effect.
