I've uploaded new versions of two images that were previously oversized, but they are still in this category even though they fit both within the 8MB file size limit and the 12.5 megapixel resolution limit. I'm guessing that this is either a thing where someone with more permissions needs to remove the category from those file pages manually (since this category is hidden) or a thing where it can just take a bit to update, but I'd like to have an actual answer. They're gone now and there haven't been any edits to the files so I'm fairly sure it's a 'takes time to update' thing. OwlsTalon (talk) (contributions) 09:17, 23 November 2022 (UTC)

:Yeah, the cache just needs to update on the category. If you edit the files in the category that are fixed and save them without making any changes, that should update the cache for them. This is called a null edit. If that doesn’t work, usually you’ll just need to wait for a while before it automatically updates. 14:28, 23 November 2022 (UTC)

Fixed Images Still Appearing

I've uploaded new versions of two images that were previously oversized, but they are still in this category even though they fit both within the 8MB file size limit and the 12.5 megapixel resolution limit. I'm guessing that this is either a thing where someone with more permissions needs to remove the category from those file pages manually (since this category is hidden) or a thing where it can just take a bit to update, but I'd like to have an actual answer. Yeah, the cache just needs to update on the category. If you edit the files in the category that are fixed and save them without making any changes, that should update the cache for them. This is called a null edit. If that doesn’t work, usually you’ll just need to wait for a while before it automatically updates. 𝐌𝐚𝐠𝐢𝐜𝐌𝐚𝐬𝐨𝐧𝟏𝟎𝟎𝟎 (𝐭𝐚𝐥𝐤) 14:28, 23 November 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]
