It is possible to enter the Elemental Sanctuary with the [[Smith's Sword]], when the player is on the way out of the castle after Zelda was initially turned to stone. However, if the player enters the main room and allows the big door to close, the player will not be able to escape. This is because there are multiple buttons which require Link to create copies of himself to push those buttons to open the door (after fusing at least two elements with the White Sword).
