The Bow has always been one of Links favourite weapons, first appearing in the original Legend of Zelda game, and having appeared in every Zelda game since, with the exeption of Adventure of Link. The bow is Links primary projectile weapon, and often has twice the power of the first sword in the game.
The Bow can often get arrow upgrades, including the Silver Arrow (LoZ, aLttP), the Bomb Arrow (LA), the Fire Arrow (OoT, MM, tWW), the Ice Arrow (OoT, MM, tWW), and the Light Arrow (OoT, MM, tWW, tMC).
Interestingly, rather then having an arrow supply, in the original Legend of Zelda, his Rupees are depleted when he fires his bow.
