Stalbind is the final boss of the Thieves' Hideout first appearing in ALBW, and the deceased Lorulean counterpart of Blind the Thief. He is only reachable when the Thief Girl is returned to the entrance of the dungeon. Like Blind, he is a red demonic beast, though he also possesses many skeletal traits. His name appears to be a combination of Blind (his Hyrule counterpart) and Stalfos, another skeletal enemy. He displays traits similar to those of Blind, such as detaching his head from his body to attack Link from two directions. Also, like Blind, he can breath fire (even while his head is detached from his body), though the fire that he breathes is foul and black. He also wields a large sword and shield.
Location and Access
Despite Stalbind's lair being located directly adjacent to the entrance of the dungeon, it can only be reached when escaping with the Thief girl. The Big Key is needed to enter it.
It is fought inside a dark room with a rectangular platform, surrounded by a bottomless pit.
Strategy
Sectstub
When Link enters the room where Stalbind resides, the boss will rush against him with his sword and shield. Link must merge (become a drawing) into the shield so the boss will be confused and will try to find him in the room. In that moment, Link must exit the shield, and slash him with his sword from behind. After sustaining enough damage, he will throw away the shield, and attack Link with various powerful slashes. In this phase, he is vulnerable to most weapons in Link's arsenal, but can be hard to hit because of his relentless attacks. In the final phase of the fight, Stalbind's head will detach itself from his body, and attempt to attack him as the body continues slashing. This makes him more formidable, but a few more sword hits will eventually slay the boss. After his defeat, the exit of the dungeon is opened, and the Thief Girl takes Link to where she hid Sage Osfala's painting.
