Template:Object Light Rings are objects in The Wind Waker.

Characteristics

Light Rings appear floating on the surface of the Great Sea. They mark the location of sunken treasures. As Link on the King of Red Lions approaches a ring, it begins to fade away. The ring also produces a sound effect which increases the closer Link gets to it. By using the Grappling Hook directly above the Light Ring, Link call pull a Treasure Chest containing Rupees. In The Wind Waker, the number of Rupees varies on the location of the Light Ring, while in The Wind Waker HD, all Light Rings hide Purple Rupees. Sometimes, Link can also pull a pot instead of a chest. Some Light Rings only appear during full moon. The location of these rings can be found by using the Light Ring Chart.

Light Rings also appear after opening a Treasure Chart or a Triforce Chart. These rings also feature a pillar of light inside of them. They hide beneath a Treasure Chest which may contain a Treasure or Special Chart, a Piece of Heart, Rupees, or a Triforce Shard.

A special Light Ring also appears outside the Tower of the Gods. Link can use it warp beneath the sea, where Hyrule Castle is located.
