Hinox (Character)

Template:Character The Hinox is a character in A Link Between Worlds.^{[name references needed]} It is a lone, friendly Hinox who lives inside a cave behind a waterfall in eastern Lorule.

Biography

The Hinox lives in a cave behind a waterfall in Lorule. When found and spoken to, it will bribe Link with Rupees to leave it alone. The Hinox will initially start with five Rupees, increasing the amount for every time Link demands more. However, if Link asks for too much, it will become enraged and demand its Rupees back, attacking Link with charges that inflict a huge amount of damage. Link will be able to attempt again later if he saves and quits, although returning immediately will cause the Hinox to resume its attacks. The Hinox cannot be harmed or stopped once it becomes hostile. The maximum amount of Rupees the Hinox will offer before becoming angry is set at random each time, and will rise to a maximum of 300 Rupees.

If Link speaks to the Hinox after agreeing to leave it alone, it will tell Link to keep it a secret to everybody, as it has a reputation to protect.

Trivia

• The Hinox is likely a reference to the Moblins in The Legend of Zelda that could be found hidden around the overworld, who also give Link Rupees and tell him "it's a secret to everybody."
