In October of 2000, Nintendo of America brought Link of Hyrule before WIPO in an attempt to wrestle the domain name "legendofzelda.com" from him.[1]

Through a lot of legal talk, in the end, Nintendo of America abandoned the case, and thus left Link of Hyrule with the domain name as it is today. Although it occurred almost nine years ago, this lawsuit is still an active topic of discussion among LoZ.com Forumers.[2]
