Zelda Wiki:Image Requests
A large number of the images on Zelda Wiki.org are in need of some improvement. Chiefly, there are a lot of images needing background transparency and also to be cropped from the black portions remaining from screenshots. Users are free to edit images if they have the appropriate software, which is greatly appreciated, however for those without these programs you can make requests here for adjustments to images. Anyone is allowed to action the below requests, providing that they are able to complete it to a good standard. Matt, Melchizedek and Steven will keep a watch over this page and work on a lot of the requests.
Completing requests
When uploading an improved version of an image, it is preferable to upload a new version of the same file (providing the old and new file types are the same), as this avoids the need to edit the pages on which the original image was used. If a new file is uploaded, the image which it replaces should be removed from use and deleted. When viewing the old file, the pages to be edited can be found under the "File links" section. Once all of the links have been pointed to the new image, the {{delete}} tag should be added to the old version. Should the uploader not feel able to do this for any reason, they may simply place a link to the improved file below next to that which it replaces, in the format:
File:OriginalFilename|[[:File:NewFilename.png]]
Background Removal (Transparency)
This is where you can request for image backgrounds to be removed and made transparent. Images that have had their backgrounds removed incorrectly can also be placed here. Just add the image to the gallery. You don't need to sign in this section.
Screenshot Cropping
This is where you can request for the black portions around the edges of screenshots to be removed. Just add the image to the gallery. You don't need to sign in this section.

This section is for image editing requests that don't fit into the two categories above. For this section, add the image, make your request and sign your post with ~~~~.
