*The Acheman is possibly a reference to the Devil from Devil World, a 1984 NES game designed by Shigeru Miyamoto and Takeshi Tezuka. In addition to the similar appearance, the same fireball sound effect and sprite was reused.<ref>{{Cite web|quote= The Devil himself [bears] a striking resemblance to the [Acheman] from Zelda II: The Adventure of Link, released in 1987. Hanging from the ceilings of their abode, they may resemble an Ache at first glance, albeit a deep red one. When it senses an intruder nearby it will swoop down like an Ache. However, when the Acheman touches ground, it transforms into a winged devil that spits fire at intruders. After a few volleys of fire, the Acheman will retreat into bat form and return to the ceiling. The Acheman is significantly stronger than its Ache relatives, but can still be killed with Link's blade.
