The Achemen are recurring enemies in The Legend of Zelda series.[1][name references needed]

Characteristics

The Adventure of Link

Acheman are vampire-like bat-demons that are part of the monster horde that seek Ganon's resurrection. Although they do not disguise themselves as Hylians like Aches, they have a far more dangerous transformation. Hanging from the ceilings of their abode, they may resemble Aches at first glance, albeit deep red ones. When they sense an intruder nearby they will swoop down like an Ache. However, when Achemen touche ground, they transform into winged devils that spit fire at intruders. After a few volleys of fire, Achemen will retreat into bat form and return to the ceiling. Achemen are significantly stronger than their Ache relatives, but can still be killed with Link's blade.
