The Arwing is the title of the spacecraft flown by Fox McCloud in the Nintendo StarFox series. The ship has many different models such as the Arwing II. The Arwing's relevance to Zelda is as a hidden enemy, which can be unlocked via moving around data somehow. Once found, the Arwing attacks similarly to other flying enemies, however, the Arwing can fire its laser weapons from the StarFox games.
Characteristics
The Arwing is the vehicle used by the Star Fox (team) in the Star Fox (series). In -, an unused enemy Arwing can be found by modifying the game's data, either by hacking or using a cheat device. When Link enters an area with an Arwing, a small cutscene will play showing the ship appearing. The Arwing will then proceed to fly around the area and attack Link with its lasers.

The reasons for the Arwing being in the game, under the surface, is unknown. Its likely the designers placed it in the game as an April Fool's style joke as a surprise from Nintendo executives playing the game or quality checks. Its also not known why the Arwing wasn’t removed before release, and it certainly possible to find within the games code in cartridge form if not as well as its Nintendo GameCube and Virtual Console counterparts. Maybe it was meant to be in there as a real enemy, somehow connecting the StarFox universe with the Zelda universe. Hyrule may be one of the many worlds Fox McCloud happens to visit during his adventures. However, that can't be confirmed as it not is possible to play GC or Wii games on PC or move around data.
The Arwing was used to test the flight patterns of Volvagia. It was left in ports of the game to the Nintendo GameCube and Virtual Console, but is not present in OoT3D.

On consoles, this feature can be accessed with a Gameshark or an Action Replay. However, this can easily damage the game or the system.

* The Arwing's lasers use the same sound effects as OoT's energy balls. When the Arwing is shot down, the sound of a OoT inhaling is heard.
