The Bird Statue is an item obtained in Skyward Sword. At the beginning of the game, Link must participate in the Wing Ceremony, which serves as flight training. In this minigame, which will be used to teach the young hero how to fly properly, Link must catch a golden Loftwing that is carrying the Bird Statue to prove his worth as a bird pilot.[1]

Larger statues resembling these called Goddess Statues appear as save points,[2] as well as portals to return to the sky. They play a similar role to Owl Statues from Majora's Mask.
